MAXIMILIANSCHMIDT

Maximilian, or "Max" to his friends, hails from Munich, the heart of Bavaria. Growing up in a family with deep ties to German engineering, Max’s childhood was filled with tinkering with machines in his father’s workshop. He developed a love for precision and innovation, which eventually led him to become a mechanical engineer for one of Germany's leading car manufacturers.

In his free time, Max enjoys exploring the Bavarian Alps, where he goes hiking and skiing. He’s also a passionate fan of FC Bayern Munich and rarely misses a match. Despite his technical background, Max is deeply interested in German history and culture, often attending local beer festivals, visiting castles, and collecting traditional Bavarian recipes. His favorite dish? A classic Schweinshaxe paired with a frothy Bavarian beer.

ANNA KLAUBERG

Anna grew up in the picturesque town of Heidelberg, known for its stunning castle and one of the oldest universities in Europe. A bookworm from a young age, Anna studied German literature and linguistics, eventually becoming a teacher. Her passion for language is matched only by her love for storytelling, which she brings into her lessons to make German accessible and fun for her students.

When she’s not teaching, Anna can often be found strolling along the Neckar River or enjoying a quiet afternoon in one of Heidelberg’s many cafés. She loves baking and is famous among her friends for her Apfelstrudel and Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte. Anna is also an advocate for sustainable living and spends her weekends volunteering at a local environmental initiative.

REX

Rex is our fluffy, tail-wagging “German teacher” slash mascot who takes his job very seriously—despite the fact that he can’t actually pronounce ch. Born in a cozy Bavarian village, Rex quickly discovered his passion for language when he realized humans reward correct answers with biscuits. After a successful tv career working for the police, he now he spends his days trying to somehow teach beginners how to say Guten Morgen while resisting the urge to bark every time someone mispronounces Rrrrrrollen their R’s.

When Rex isn’t “correcting” homework by chewing on it, he can be found guarding his favorite squeaky toy or proudly demonstrating the difference between sitzen and setzen. His teaching methods may be… unconventional, but our learners adore him for his floppy ears and his enthusiastic attitude. Let's be honest here... Rex may not be the strictest German teacher, but he is definitely the cutest!
